This past weekend, the Way Collective hosted an event with Brian McLaren at The Narrative. The Collective is a community that places emphasis on shared practices and values rather than beliefs. As a community, they come together to practice connection, contemplation, critical thinking, creativity, and compassionate action, along with their five values including hospitality, wisdom, and beauty. To enrich their practice and values, the Way Collective invites speakers to instill their wisdom into their community, and Brian McLaren was called upon this week!
Brian McLaren is a man of many talents! As an author, teacher, and speaker, Brian had a lot of his own wisdom to impart on this community. He focused on the topics of his newly released book, The Great Spiritual Migration, to lead the discussion of this special one night event. The book focuses on Brian's argument that the Christian faith is not dying and rather it is embarking on a once-in-an-era spiritual shift. With a background as a global peacemaker, pastor, and public theologian, Brian urges readers to embrace the powerful understandings that are reshaping the church.
Everyone involved in the night was eager to learn and expand their knowledge on the subject. The night kicked off with some pre-event social time with free beer and wine from Third Eye Brewing and ! Intelligent conversation flowed as Brian answered questions on the topic of his book and further explored these themes with the Way Collective community. Such an awesome event with a very empowering community!
