Meet our awesome Event Coordinator, Rachel!

After a few years exploring, we are excited to welcome back Rachel to The Narrative family! She is back and better than ever, handling all of our event operations. When she describes herself in three words, she is LOUD, funny, and compassionate, and we are so happy to have her energy once again in our creative space. Back in 2009, Rachel picked up her life in the Pacific Northwest and made her way to our part of the Pacific Ocean! Trading in being an Oregon State Beaver for a life at the beach, Rachel made the first steps in her career by earning a degree in Interior Design from Santa Barbara City College. As a jack of all trades, with a love of learning and a passion for all things creative, she took her talents to the world in all different areas. Interior design, wood working, florals, and photography are just a few of the fields in which she gained immense skills. All of her experiences led her back home to The Narrative where she believes her position as Event Coordinator is perfect because it combines all of her creative passions!

Outside the office, Rachel loves spending time in nature. With a particular love for florals, Rachel runs a boutique floral design business, Taylor Blooms Co.! As a designer, she works in a minimal creative style, with a love for more muted tones, but still has a liking for the color crimson. She says none of her creative endeavors would be possible without the constant love and support from her friends and family, who mean everything to her. As a landscaper, her mom encouraged her to try out all new things to find something she really liked. With no imagination as a child, she fed off her two siblings insanely creative minds and eventually transformed into a lover of design and creation. Her ideal day would be surrounded by her loved ones drinking rosé with all types of food- she can never decide on a favorite and her choices are always dependent on her mood!

With a naturally fast-pace, Rachel is making a conscious effort to be more like a snail. By that, she means she is slowing down after moving so fast her entire life and is making decisions with a lot of intention, to cover a lot of ground. She is taking the time to enjoy books by some of her favorite authors like Lorrie Moore while she takes on this new lifestyle. Although she has lived a fast-pace with many changes, one thing has remained constant- the love of her life, her dog Bennie. Nine years ago, Rachel rescued her sweet girl and over the years they have been on countless adventures together, including a four month road trip, just the two of them, where they travelled across four different states and two different countries! On that road trip, Rachel became a certified cicerone, a beer connoisseur. She also is a certified sommelier, which is lucky because she is gluten-free now and can't enjoy beer!

After many adventures and so many incredible projects, we are so happy to have Rachel back. Cheers to the newest addition to The Narrative family!
