The loving Valentines spirit got to us this year and our hearts were unbelievably full! The event we all were waiting for, Love Knows No Limits, surpassed all our expectations. Laughter, dancing, singing, talent and LOVE filled The Narrative on Valentine's night. A community recently broken by natural devastation rose up and came together to support the Direct Relief effort for this event. Samir Rai spoke on behalf of Direct Relief and provided some insight on the efforts of the organization and how exactly our donations would affect the aftermath of the Thomas Fire and Montecito Mudslides- we are humbled and inspired to know the great impact we are having!
The smiles that we had missed so dearly came back through, and with each grin, we could see our community starting to rebuild. As every person entered into our creative space there was an immense sense of pride and support we could feel from each individual- we could finally start to feel the overwhelming hope and happiness that had been missing for so long.
Mastermind Wade Newsom planted the seed for an event that the Santa Barbara/Montecito community watered and grew into something spectacular. The community and event team poured its heart and soul into making this dream become a reality! DJ Gavin Roy led the musical charge by orchestrating the tunes. Live performances by Conner Cherland and Beth Gilbert were a sweet musical treat. Weaved into the music, poets and performers shared their talents with the crowd! Newsom emceed and kicked off the poetry and was accompanied by poets Justin Davis, Lena Firestone, and Emily Chow-Kambitsch. Hearing the stories and talents from these individuals brought life and lots of love into The Narrative.
Amongst the tunes and talent, guests playfully fought to the core in our silent auction! So many options that drove such fun competition! Thank you to all the donators for the amazing items- we wanted them all! Of course no event is complete without some yummy goodies! Wishbone Catering brought in a decadent array that amazed every foodie in the room- Lena and Isa, your creations did it yet again! The delicious food was accompanied by refreshments arranged by Kelley Chilton with help from Colby Cox and Lindsey Dahlin, thank you!
This event simply could not have happened without the many hands and creative brains behind all the details. A huge thank you to Tai Kerbs, Jen Corsac, Jane McTaggart, Mary Foxworthy, Alisa Wilcox, and Gracie Boelsems for making everything possible! As a community, we came together, felt, processed, and conquered. We are immensely proud of the efforts of our community and we are excited to see where this new silver lining will take us! ❤️
