You can’t lie- at some point in your life, you have genuinely considered the existence of mermaids. Who hasn’t? Who could be sad in a world where mermaids existed?
Well, luckily for us, mermaids do exist. And the whole tribe’s in Santa Barbara.
The founders of Save the Mermaids, a nonprofit organization that started with an eager group of girls, grew into something bigger than what they could have imagined. It started with their simple love for the ocean, and through their desire and dedication to preserve it, they have become role models that inspire all of us, children and adults, to be kinder to the ocean.
The very talented Michael Sharp captured every moment, as the Narrative Loft come to life with the inspiring story of these girls- true forces of nature. It was our pleasure to be included in this Sunday Supper event, a series that helped raise money and reach out to people of all ages and many backgrounds. It was a night of good people and good food (HUGE thank you to Lena and Isa of Wishbone Catering who co-sponsored the event with us.)
After the beautiful appetizers, the group went right into the real reason they were all there; to bond over their love for other people, the ocean and the world. With their incredible “Under the Sea Theme,” every part of the night was an awesome reminder that we can make a difference at any level. And while we have yet to talk about it with the other mermaids, we’re sure they are happy to see these fierce women help get things done.
