Every year The Santa Barbara Independent, a local weekly newspaper celebrates the movers and shakers of the Santa Barbara theater scene with the Indy Awards. Actors, directors, musicians, and professors from across the county were in attendance. We're so happy to have had them all here at The Narrative for this special event.

Pop up wine and beer dinner!
Our friends at Ventura Rental Party Center and Seasons Catering hosted a rad pop up wine and beer dinner. It was a night full of good company, great drinks and fantastic food. The event featured local wine from Tooth & Nail Winery as well as beer from Surf Brewery. It was a five course dinner, with delicious food crafted by Seasons Catering. They are making it a monthly occasion, with one hopefully taking place here at The Narrative sometime soon. Stay tuned!
Date night at The Narrative!
It was date night here at The Narrative for sorority Delta Delta Delta at UCSB. All dolled up and ready for a night on the town, they had a mixer here complete with music, drinks and infinite good times.
Yummy rehearsal dinner!
Bright, casual, and classic. The feel of another rehearsal dinner here at the loft. It was a lovely afternoon, with plenty of natural light beaming through the space! Pure Joy Catering brought delicious farm fresh food to the table with plenty of local veggies, yummy home baked breads and a chef manned pasta station. Beware if your hungry, salivation warning!!!
Rocha Swim is ready for a dip!
Here in Santa Barbara we're blessed with over 300 days of sunshine annually and gorgeous beaches no more than five miles away from anywhere in town. Growing up in this little California community, swimwear designer Danielle Rocha developed a love affair with the ocean and the long days spent next to it in a bikini. Inspiration combined with her eye for fashion sparked Rocha Swim.

In addition to being an exquisite cellist, Joshua is about as warm and friendly as they come and we were honored to have his music and wonderful energy fill the studio.

It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year at 240
The holidays are upon us... and so are the holiday parties! As you know, 240's alter ego is "event venue" and we are very excited to be hosting several holiday parties this year. Christmas lights against the warm woodwork in this studio give it a magical glow - perfect for getting in the holiday spirit. Add a little music and the scent of eggnog and baked goods and you will seriously forget that it's 70 degrees outside and there isn't a snowflake in sight.
The Santa Barbara Region Chamber of Commerce has been incredibly helpful to our growing business, so when they approached us about throwing a holiday party for their loyal advertisers at our studio, of course we were thrilled! While the theme is Holiday Cheer, the party will also be celebrating the release of the 2012 Membership Directory - a must-have business resource.
We hope to see all you smart advertisers here on DECEMBER 1ST! (Preferably with bells on)

A previous speaker at AIGA events, TED and design events across the planet, Marian has a unique style defies labeling. A much-admired designer, she has collaborated with such legends as Debbie Millman from Sterling Brands, Michael Bierut and Paula Scher from Pentagram/NY, Sean Adams from AdamsMorioka, and Stefan Sagmeister - all of whom are featured in the film. Shot on location in Toronto, Vancouver, New York, and Los Angeles, the film also whisks us away to Marian's private home and workspace on secluded Bowen Island. We listen to her outspoken opinions on design and designers and take in the amazing breadth of her work.
