The Narrative Loft's crew couldn't be more ecstatic to call her our studio mate. Her spirit instantly connected with everyone here and her style clicks perfectly with the space. Artistic, eclectic, and bright.
Spring has sprung, its time for love! The sun, shining. The air, warm. The couple, madly in love. After tying the knot at the Santa Barbara Courthouse our most recent wedding party continued their celebration here at The Narrative. From the florals to the linen, this reception was a breath of spring. Brenda from Gatherings for Good planned this day of love, with a portion of the event fees going to charity. So awesome! Our friends over at Bella Vista Designs and Amigo Party Rentals created a gorgeous backdrop for the evening.
Living a half a century on earth is more than a reason to celebrate, it's a reason to party! Especially when you don't look a day over 35. This birthday girl brought together the dancers, the wild hearted and the lovers of life to have a bash that lasted late into the night. Santa Barbara band Area 51 kept things groovy with their selection of dance tunes. From funk to Motown, disco to rock & roll, modern hits and more, this group knows how to make dance floors quake!
The Santa Barbara marketing community ascended on the loft for a night of pizza, beer and networking. Opportunities to meet new faces in the field were abound, as well as the opportunity to gain insight and expertise from leaders in the tech marketing sphere. The main feature were presentations from a few of the marketing heads at AppFolio, Ontraport, and Invoca on ways to improve and streamline marketing methods.
Lights, camera... blades? Watching the finished product of a video shoot, you never know what goes on behind-the-scenes to get that perfect shot. Rollerblades happen to be the winning technique for Venture Visual's shoot with Heritage Oaks Bank. Venture Visuals is a Santa Barbara-based video production company that have collaborated with the likes of Apple, UGG Australia, and Ford to help them create the stories they share with the world! Also a shout out to Cut/Print Creative for her styling and make-up artistry on set!
The ladies from UCSB's Rho Psi Eta pre-health sorority took over the loft for their formal. This sisterhood isn't your typical sorority though, they are group of brilliant young ladies that are dedicated to academic excellence with big plans of pursuing careers in the health profession. The girls decked the place in their own decor and hors d'oeuvres. Sweet white lilies in vases scattered the loft and our pretty blue wall was utilized as a photo booth backdrop. Dressed in their evening best they danced the night away thanks to a fellow DJ friend, while our friends at Simply Cocktails kept the party rolling with their full-service bartending services.
Its out! The Santa Barbara Independent's much anticipated "Annual Wedding Issue" is printed and scattered about the town in coffee shops and cafes. From local couples to out-of-town destination weddingers, the Santa Barbara event industry is thriving. Not to mention the numerous talented and creative event professionals that call this area home. There is a pull-out resource guide (a sort of YellowPages- wedding edition) featuring yours truly. Plus countless other venues, caterers, planners and musicians like our girl DJ Darla Bea A.K.A. our "Queen Event Coordinator."
Everyone was dressed to impress for AppFolio's kick-off party that launched a week of fun events for the group. The dreamy decor was not far behind in style points as Bella Vista Designs transformed the space with string lights, silk drapery and white paper lanterns, a match made in heaven with our timber beams and floors. The cool vibe transcended to every inch of the loft, especially the lounge area which Town and Country decked with a classy couch set. Omni Catering warmed guests souls with their signature grilled-cheese sandwiches before bringing out the food coma sealer, a build your own ice cream sandwich station! That's a wrap! The second edition of TEDx Santa Barbara Live went off without a hitch. Once a year, the greatest movers and shakers of our time bring their bright ideas to a live audience on the TED stage. The chance to get a seat in that live audience is slim picking. Luckily the production team of TEDx Santa Barbara Live is on a mission to bring that experience to our local community. It was an action-packed two days, with people coming and going during the live simulcast from Vancouver. We are so happy to have been the host location for the second year in a row, another fantastic event in the books. We can't wait for next year!

Valentine's Day is here and love is in the air! We wish a joyous v-day to all the wonderful couples that chose our space as the setting for a chapter in their own love stories and for included us in such a special day of their lives. While we can't send a bouquet of red roses to every bride and groom that have walked through our door. We can send you all a virtual valentine A.K.A. a blog with a few of your smiling faces, as a toast to your love and our gratitude for all of you!
When we create we embark on true self-exploration! Santa Barbara artist, costume designer, and creativity coach Kirsten Gold is all about reaching these new facets of yourself through creativity. Her pop-up art gallery called Thresholds: A Woman Birthing Herself was an interactive and engaging event. Her work features gorgeously crafted collages and mixed media creations, pieces and parts of art that have been recycled into new artwork at the helm of her loving hands.
When two people tie-the-knot they make a vow to take on life's adventures side by side. For this lovely reception the bride and groom utilized our surround sound Sonos system with a hand-picked playlist for the big day! During dinner music by John Williams, composer of the scores from Star Wars, Jaws, Indiana Jones and many more played in the background. Tamara's Catering kept stomachs happy with a build your own burrito station.
Katina celebrated her 60th b-day with a bash for the ages! Music by Bonnie & Co. kept everyone jumping and jiving, while Pure Joy Catering provided tons of goodies like mini grilled cheese, tomato soup and
Courageous. Honest. Honorable. Kymberlee Weil A.K.A. Strategic Samurai embodies all the traits of a Samurai and is a role model for women and men alike. Whether she's training in Hapkido, speaking at a seminar, or producing a TEDx event, she kicks some serious butt! She held a workshop here that was an action-packed speaker training experience.
We are so excited to have Miss Darla Bea on our team as our Queen "Venue" Coordinator and on-site DJ! She lights up the loft with her enthusiasm and makes us laugh with her sarcasm. She takes the cake for having the best costumes in the county and is well-known in the Santa Barbara community, often playing gigs several nights a week.
We're swooning over this gorgeous gathering! Jordan and Erik stole our hearts with their enchanting wedding! Every detail screams romance with gold hues and pink accents. Cargo Creative styled the entire affair and decked the loft with her floral designs. Wow! We're absolutely in love with the cake that The Sugar Lab baked up and guests were delighted to music by
Check out this darling DIY wedding. The bride and groom made their wedding pop with personal details they created themselves. Twinkling string lights, handmade table cards, and personalized M&M's as their names are Michelle and Mark! DJ's California Catering provided scrumptious handcrafted food for the 95 guests and Patrick Butler Entertainment kept everyone's feet a moving.
Procore celebrated their sales kickoff with a cocktail party that went late into the night. Santa Barbara's own Beta Play rocked the loft with some original tunes and covers from bands like Talking Heads and Uptown Funk. Elite Disk Jockeys also kept the group grooving with their selection of songs. Luners Production Services setup the stage lighting and audio turning the loft into an awesome concert venue.
